Biography
Born in Seoul, Korea, Dasom Choi is an interdisciplinary artist. She studied handcrafts art major in Korea until her second year and went to the United States to study. She studied graphic design first but then changed her major to painting. Now, she is studying painting and motion media design majors and sculpture minor. She started her artistic career by successfully completing her first solo exhibition in the summer of 2022. She participates in a new exhibition every year as a curator and artist.

Artist Statemen
As an interdisciplinary artist, my world of work stems from human life and experiences. Explore media such as painting, installation, and digital media and look back on human life at the boundary between reality and reality. When working, think about what I am trying to say first and decide on the best material and method to express it. I work on watching and visualizing life. We communicate with people by creating and developing artworks with various materials that observe and explore the emotions, memories, and environment surrounding our lives. There are vast rules of nature that living creatures can never escape. Nevertheless, we pursue individual freedom and values in the truth of being born, living, and dying. In installation and sculpture works, I find rules that humans cannot escape from the materials made in factories and based on them. I explore color, space, and symbolism to visualize what I seek on the plane without being bound by the meaning of materials. In media work, I understand digital media's material and social characteristics, work in the humanities, and social background. In this way, I express in visual language the concept of living existence and something around it through the base of various materials
